Cat’s claw – the bark of a wild liana, used for the manufacture of a dietary supplement, contains important active components: tetra- and pentacyclic oxindole alkaloids – mitrafilin, pteropodin, rhynchophilin, uncarin and others, stimulating the immune system (activating phagocytosis), possessing anti-inflammatory, antiarrhythmic, antiaggregants hypotensive, hypocholesterolemic and preventive antitumor action. In addition to alkaloids, the cat’s claw plant contains other biologically active substances – catechins and proanthocyanidins, polyphenols, triterpenes, plant steroids, which determine its antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.
