Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is a treelike vine native to central Latin America. The bark of the plant is mainly used as a medicinal raw material for Cat’s Claw. Six alkaloids isolated from the bark of a vine stimulate the body’s immune system and activate phagocytosis. One of them – rhynchophylline – prevents platelet aggregation and blood clots, which can be used to treat certain cardiovascular diseases.
It is characterized by anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimicrobial, antioxidant effects.
